Bridgeman Images announcement – 7 September, 2018.

Bridgeman Images is proud and excited to announce the acquisition of the leading Parisian Picture Library, Leemage.

This extensive archive includes masterpieces from the ancient world to the modern day, including many exclusively represented photographers as well as the performing arts and authors’ archive Opale which Bridgeman will represent exclusively worldwide.

This acquisition of Leemage comes hot on the heels of the recent acquisition of the Lebrecht Picture Library, the acquisition of Rue des Archives French photography collection, and winning the tender to be the exclusive editorial and commercial licensing partner in the UK for the British Library.

Bridgeman Images’ expansion also includes a new office in Italy and an International team that continues to grow and develop direct client partnerships around the world in all commercial sectors.

Victoria Bridgeman, CEO, said:

“We are delighted that Leemage have joined the Bridgeman family. We have always admired their collection and this latest acquisition is part of our continued strategy to build our business to offer our clients the best collection of rights-managed content.

With such an experienced team and the strength of our combined archives we hope we will be able to offer an unparalleled service and an even greater breadth and depth of cultural imagery to an ever expanding market worldwide.”

Stefano Bianchetti, Leemage Director and Founder, said:

“When Joo and I founded Leemage 20 years ago, we took Bridgeman as a model… After all our work and these years, we are delighted now to be joining forces with Bridgeman Images. It’s an honor and a pleasure. ”

All content will remain available through Leemage.com while we integrate the collection onto the Bridgeman platform  Bridgemanimages.com. We will make further announcements when the integration progresses.
