British Pathé TV wins award

Documentary streaming service British Pathé TV is delighted to announce that it was the recipient of a FOCAL International Award at last night’s ceremony held at the Troxy in London.

The category, Best Use of Footage on Innovative Platforms, honoured the newly-relaunched  British Pathé TV SVOD service for the promotion of archive-driven long form programming on an online platform.

British Pathé TV aims to appeal to specialist audiences that mainstream services are failing to cater for, such as history buffs, royal watchers, cinema aficionados and train enthusiasts. It is available at www.britishpathe.tv

Alastair White, CEO of British Pathé TV, accepted the award and spoke on behalf of the SVOD team. Despite getting the name of one of the key team members wrong, his speech went very well. 

Alastair, who was to be found at the drinks reception later overcome with emotion, had this to say: “It wossh really great to win thissh award; is the bar still open?”
