The Architectural Association’s photographic archive is one of the oldest and most important architectural collections in the UK.
It comprises over 320,000 images of historic and contemporary architecture in range of formats, including 19thC lantern slides, 35mm slides and digital files – of which over 40,000 are available on our online catalogue.
International in scope, the collections have been built up since the 1870s, with contributions from some of 20thC’s leading photographers, architects and historians – together with scores of AA alumni and members.
In addition to this core collection the AA Archives also holds a number of discrete collections of internationally significant photographers, architects and educators.
These include Erno Goldfinger, Eric De Mare, Reyner Banham, Frank Yerbury, Robin Evans, Denys Lasdun and Eric Jarrett.
