October highlights from Nature Picture Library

Three men from Wodaabe nomadic tribe celebrating Gerewol, a gathering of different clans in which women choose a husband. Men dress in best clothes and ornaments to sing and dance in front of the young women. Chad, Sahel, Africa. 2019.

This month’s highlights demonstrate the worldwide reach of our photographers, from the Mongolian wilderness to the dry heart of Australia, via destinations as diverse as Benin, Chad, Chile, Arctic Russia and the tropical Pacific islands.

Subjects featured include birds in action, lots of equine, people, environment and landscape photography, and bold portraits of European and rainforest wildlife.
