IWM’s unique collections  tell the stories of people’s spirit, resilience, creativity, and innovation in the face of adversity.

Although best known for its coverage of the two World Wars, the Archive covers twentieth century conflict in its entirety.

Comprising more than 11 million photographs, the collection is also notable for works of art from the British government war art schemes and a constantly growing film and sound archive.
