Our Image Licensing Department licenses photography of artworks from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection, which includes Scottish National Gallery, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. We can supply high resolution files in addition to reproduction permissions.

The Collection includes art from the Renaissance to 20th Century Art.

Some of the greatest art in the world, including masterpieces by Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Constable, Turner, Monet, Van Gogh and Gauguin, amongst many others. The most comprehensive part of the collection covers the history of Scottish painting – all the major names, including Ramsay, Raeburn, Wilkie and McTaggart, are represented.

Part of the Collection is a must for modern and contemporary art, personal and institutional archives relating to 20th and 21st century Scottish and international art, which includes a large Surrealist archive  – the Gabriel Keller Collection.

Explore different aspects of the story of Scotland told through a wealth of imagery including portraits of famous historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, Prince Charles Edward Stuart and Robert Burns, through to more recent pioneers in science, sport and the arts.

A large photographic collection which includes the Hill & Adamson archive to present day photographers.

You can also access to works from a number of Scottish private collections in black and white photography.
