Royal Museums Greenwich Picture Library

National Maritime Museum, Park Row Greenwich, London SE10 9NF, United Kingdom

Royal Museums Greenwich Picture Library is the world’s greatest source of historical maritime images, with collections covering trade and empire, navigation, war and astronomy.

We licence high resolution images from the National Maritime Museum’s collection, which includes the Royal Observatory Greenwich, The Queen’s House and Cutty Sark.

Items in the collection include oil paintings, prints and drawings, maps and charts, scientific instruments, ship plans, historic photographs, manuscripts, ship models, antiquities and uniforms.

If you cannot find an image or specific subject matter please do email us at pictures@rmg.co.uk and we will be happy to assist you with your research.

We can also organise scanning and new photography of material which has not been digitised previously.
