Job description: Full Time or Part Time Content Cataloguer, Content Operations Team

The primary responsibility of this role is to catalogue new content and to review all current content in the archive to ensure that it meets with both the company’s and the industry’s metadata standards.

Under the direction of the Content Operations Team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively within the department to identify areas within the archive that require improvements and/or updates to its metadata and work to implement those required improvements.

The role reports directly to the Global Head of Content Operations and will be based in our London office.  

Tasks:

  • Catalogue all new content into the archive in accordance with company & industry standards.
  • Maintaining search data for all content type by making sure all assets are keyworded accurately and no data point are missing  
  • Analyse existing content to identify and build a target list of assets that require improvements to its metadata.
  • Implement a strategy for the required improvements based on certain key parameters, focusing on content most crucial to the business, including but not limited to, sales revenue, strategic Content Partner consideration and rights issues.
  • Maintain best practices across the archive in metadata management.
  • Ensure accurate tagging of assets with their appropriate rights and/or copyright warnings.
  • Maintain and develop metadata tools that will provide for the continued improvement of the content in its searchability internally and externally.
  • Analyze results from Google Analytics to improve the metadata standards of the archive and ensure successful and relevant search results for our clients.  
  • Work with our Content Partnership Team and Content Partners to advise and improve on all content within the archive.
  • Internal communication within the Content Operations and Content Partnership Teams to support decision making.
  • Support internal requests from the Sales, Marketing or Research Teams for improvement to select assets and their metadata.
  • Work closely with Sales, Research, Marketing, IT, Finance and the Content Partnerships Teams in supporting the needs of the business as it relates to the existing archive and its metadata.

Tasks may change and evolve from time to time depending on changing content requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in image cataloguing.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Digital Asset Management systems. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with various metadata standards.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with IPTC technology.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Google Analytics. 
  • Experience working with thesaurus systems and controlled vocabulary.
  • Experience working with footage and footage cataloguing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of content licensing and the photo agency industry is a plus. 
  • German, French and Italian language is a plus.
  • Understanding of copyright and IP law is a plus.
  • Experience within a cultural environment, working with photographers, artists & estates is a plus.
  • A confident, enthusiastic, and innovative team player, experienced in working independently and handling a demanding, varied workload.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment with accountability for helping to achieve group and individual targets and timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and thorough understanding of Microsoft Office, and CMS & DAM platforms.

KPIs:

  • Number of new assets fully catalogued and added to the archive.
  • Number of existing assets whose metadata has been improved each month.
  • Number of existing assets in reserve that have been made live each month.
  • % of the archive that adheres to industry standards in metadata.  
  • Accuracy of metadata for existing content.
