With over 27 years experience as a Picture Researcher, Jane Smith has been freelancing since 2010, providing picture/ media research and art direction for a range of clients including publishers and authors. Her experience encompasses sourcing images for a wide range of uses including book and magazine covers, inside pages, as well as clearing images for use in products. Jane also works with PR agencies, large scale retailers and small independent businesses, sourcing images for their brands, products and websites.

Following her studies in Photographic Design at University of Plymouth, Jane worked as an intern at small picture agency before moving to Tony Stone Images (now Getty Images) as an International Picture Researcher. She subsequently moved to Research Project Manager, sourcing creative visuals for art cards and poster ranges for big brands Ikea and Habitat, before joining Camera Press as their Image Library Manager. Jane's final role before freelancing was as Media Manager at Pearson Education, establishing and managing a Media Research team who sourced and commissioned creative media assets for educational use.
