This 2 hour session was aimed at anyone working in the image industry including creators, licensing agencies, collections managers and picture researchers.

We explored current social and cultural landscape, and trends impacting on brand messaging and content creation through the lens of Diversity and Inclusion.

With a focus on Keywording, we assessed available methodologies to ensure content is classified, stored and found using inclusive language. Consideration was given to the search systems available, and accessibility issues impacting on the online customer experience.

The session began with a full overview of the course format. Attendees had an opportunity to participate in a live practical Keywording session, led by Clemency Wright, where they could ask questions, whilst putting into practice their learnings from the session.

We summarised with a review of the challenges and potential solutions for image makers.

We asked if “Futureproof Keywording” is achievable given the complexities of language within today’s creative industries.

This was an interactive course with opportunities to ask questions and develop understanding on the topic through practice.
