We are excited to announce that we have new and exclusive post-restoration photography of Raphael’s preliminary study for his fresco masterpiece The School of Athens, via the amazing Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana collection.
After the completion of the restoration of The School of Athens preliminary cartoon, Raphael’s masterpiece has been made public again at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.
We are excited to share with you exclusive photography of the restored work.
The Ambrosian Library is the oldest public library in Italy.
Alongside the library is the Ambrosian Art Gallery (Pinacoteca Ambrosiana) which houses an impressive selection of Italian and European art, such as da Vinci’s Portrait of a Musician, Caravaggio’s Basket of Fruit, and Raphael’s cartoon of The School of Athens.
Bridgeman Images, thanks to the partnership between Mondadori Portfolio and Ambrosiana, are now the exclusive representatives of the Ambrosiana collection in the UK, USA and France whilst the collection is available to license in most other territories.
