Werner Forman Archive launch ultra high-res scans

6 Image Montage Low res2
Werner Forman Archive press release – 12 June, 2019

The ancient art and architecture specialists are now scanning selected images onto Ultra-High res format – 80-100 Mb images for extra detail and size.

Their unique collection was mostly shot on medium and large format transparency, so the images can be upscaled.

Werner Forman Archive is a unique collection of pictures of archaeology, architecture, artefacts and art of ancient, oriental, classical and primitive cultures taken on location all over the world and in many museums and private collections.

Werner Forman was sole photographer and co-author of over 80 books and these outstanding images form the basis of the collection.

All the images on the website are suitable for book reproduction but now they are offering Hasselblad Imacon Drum scanning on request for uses that require extra detail and size.

Please contact wfa@btinternet.com for further information.

Recently these superb large-size scans have been featured in coffee table books and a historical exhibition in Dubai.
