Bridgeman Images launches competition to bring fresh, contemporary content to the archive in association with Creative Review
Bridgeman Images, the art licensing specialists, are launching the second annual Bridgeman Studio Award to source new talent for their contemporary art platform.
Bridgeman Studio continues to make great strides in sourcing and nurturing talent for image licensing. To celebrate this, they have put together a stellar line-up of prizes, judges and sponsors for their 2015 competition. Their partners will help choose winning imagery that reflects the demands of the global image-licensing industry.
The competition launches on 15 April 2015 with media partner Creative Review.
Competition details: Enter The Great Outdoors
DATES: Starts 15th April – Ends 15th June
This year’s theme is The Great Outdoors. Entrants will be asked to submit up to 5 digital images which sum up exploration, travel, freedom and wild nature. The brief is open to all artists and includes photography, illustration and graphic works.
Results for #studioaward15 will be announced in the Creative Review August Issue. Plus across all Bridgeman social channels, blog and website.
Judges and sponsors
Creative Review – We are proud to welcome our media partner back for a second year. The leading monthly magazine/blog for visual culture will be active in providing support and outreach to entrants during the competition. A winner’s showcase will be in the August issue.
Wilderness Festival – Also on the judging panel is the multi-award winning arts festival who we are working closely with on a number of projects including workshops with our artists. They are offering an exceptional commission as one of the prizes.
CultureLabel – We are delighted to have the support of our sister company whose online platform offers unique art and craft gifts.
Prizes include £500 and an exceptional commission
Award Winning Imagery
Three winners will receive their own product line (limited edition print, tea-towel, t-shirt) on CultureLabel, featuring their images.
They will also be invited to join Bridgeman Studio for licensing and given one year’s free subscription.
Grand Prize – £500 Commission
A £500 commission to create the Wilderness Festival map, which 10,000 visitors to the festival will receive on arrival. A work of art in itself, the map will fold out to A3 size and will additionally be shown on large signage.

Illustrator Katie Edwards won the inaugural Bridgeman Studio Award for her interpretation of the theme of ‘Joy’ and has had licensing success with Bridgeman Studio.
Her images have been used on a Dutch book cover, an Italian corporate publication and prints through Print-on-Demand partner Art.com.
