Earlier this month was International Women’s Day and with this in mind Royal Armouries Image Library want to share their Women in War collection with you. This online image library features varied roles women have played in the art of warfare throughout history. From the mysterious 14th-century female fencer, Walpurgis, seen in Royal Armouries Image Library’s famous I. 33 manuscript to ammunitions factory workers in the Second World War. This photographic collection from their archive highlights the amazing efforts of women during the First and Second World War and can be viewed here.
